Honley Male Voice Choir

Honley Male Voice Choir

The official website for Honley Male Voice Choir containing details of forthcoming events/concerts, rehearsal times and contacts for new members plus lots more information.

Planning indeed!

The choir has a very busy  year in prospect with major concerts in May, with Lesley Garrett, in September to commemorate the start of World War 1 and in December for our annual Christmas concert. All these events take place in the prestigious Huddersfield Town Hall and don’t include further appearances there at concerts organised by the Rotary Club and by  the Lions Club. So, it was really pleasing that our MD, Steven Roberts, came to the recent meeting of our Concerts Committee with deatiled plans for all the major events showing just how it will be possible to fulfill all our obligations without putting too much of a strain on members. It is going to be a very exciting year and we are all looking forward to it with great expectation. I hope you will keep your eye out for publicity about these events and book early to avoid disappointment.

For the last 3-4 weeks it has been my dubious pleasure to organise advanced sales of tickets to choir members, Friends of Honley Male Voice Choir and members of our Ladies Circle. Don’t get me wrong, this is going to be a fantastic concert and I am only too happy to help our loyal members and supporters. However, Kirklees Council make the job of managing ticket sales very difficult by printing the tickets in long strips corresponding to ill-defined blocks, so finding an individual seat is very difficult. After spending a few hours tearing these strips into Row/Seat Number order the job becomes manageable and we have sold almost 200 to date. I am pleased to say, though, that the tickets are now the responsibility of the Box Office and can be obtained from Kirklees Information Offices, by telephone at 01484 223200/222444 or online at http://www.kirklees.gov.uk/townhalls. Tickets are priced at £15 to £30 and you should book early to avoid disappointment.
